Services and Treatments

Individual Therapy

Talk therapy, also known as psychotherapy, is a collaborative, one on one approach that allows us to address our mental health concerns in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. By understanding our thoughts, behaviours and emotions we can work together to foster self-awareness, understanding, make positive changes and improve our overall well-being. MindScape’s team of mental health professionals can help you develop skills and strategies to cope with life’s stressors and facilitate emotional grownth.

Couples Counselling

Couples counseling is a supportive space for partners to strengthen their relationship and address challenges together. Through guided conversations and therapeutic techniques, couples can improve communication, resolve conflicts, and deepen their emotional connection. This type of counseling helps partners understand each other better, navigate issues such as trust, intimacy, and life transitions, and build a healthier, more fulfilling partnership. Whether facing specific problems or seeking to enhance their bond, couples counseling offers valuable tools and insights for a stronger, more resilient relationship.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a type of talk therapy that focuses on how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected. It helps us identify negative thought patterns that might be holding us back and teaches us to practical strategies to challenge and change those patterns, replacing them with more positive and helpful ones.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Think of DBT as a toolkit for navigating life’s ups and downs. Through DBT we learn practical techniques to enhance mindfulness, regulate emotions, tolerate distress and communicate effectively. DBT helps us find balance between self-acceptance while also working toward positive change.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a specialized treatment for trauma, addictions, and persistent mental health challenges. Our therapists are trained in two different EMDR approaches, including standard and attachment-based. EMDR helps clients identify root causes of problematic thoughts and behaviours. It involves three basic stages, including a preparation session, one or more desensitization sessions, and integration or debriefing sessions afterwards. The desensitization sessions often include taking a look at memories from one’s childhood or more recent past and examining how unmet needs or mistreatment led to maladaptive responses. As each client and each story is unique, the specific process for EMDR for each client will look a bit different. But you can be assured that at MindScape you are in a safe place to explore difficult topics, and your counselling provider is well-trained in the EMDR process.
